Insider Tip #1:  Hold Your Air When Maxing Out

This will probably be counter-intuitive but it's vitally
important.  When you are performing max-effort
work you actually want to hold your breath during the lift.

The reason for this is simple; it makes your body much
more stable and tight.  Essentially it keep strength from
leaking your body.

Fill your stomach with air before you un-rack the bar
and hold the air until the lift is completed.  It will
take practice but try to fill your belly with air rather
than your chest.

You definitely want to do use this technique when maxing
out or seeing how much you can lift for one rep.
