unique formual for correcting sticking points (article)

Many people that are training for max strength make the wrong
assumption that if their muscles were just a bit bigger or stronger
they'd be able to lift more.
This is partially true, but there's a lot more to it.
Here's an example. If a guy is taking steroids we know that his
muscles will grow faster right? That's pretty much a given.
The poundage he's pushing around starts to go up pretty fast,
but his bones and tendons have not had time to mature or get
accustomed to the new load. That's why you'll see a lot of guys
on the juice get injured. The rest of their body can't keep
up with the fast muscle gains.
Now that's just the tip of the iceberg because more important than
your muscles, bones, and tendon strength is your nervous system.
Techniques like forced reps and training for too many weeks in
a row can totally fry your nervous system.
You hear powerlifting coaches like Louie Simmons preach that lifters
should take a deload week every now and again in order to restore
the nerves of the whole body.
the nerves of the whole body.
Recently I was surprised to read that Vince Gironda has been
saying this since the 1950s.
If you don't pay attention to this principle your training is guaranteed
to get stale before you know it regardless of whether you are training
for strength or aesthetics.
The late great Vince Gironda aka the Iron Guru had a suggested
solution that you should read up on if your motivation is feeling low
lately.
I hope this helps you out like it did for me.
Keep training hard,

P.S. As you can tell many of Vince Gironda's principles have become staples
in the fitness and bodybuilding world. You'll even see a lot of "new breakthroughs"
advertised today that Vince preached about over 50 years ago.
