aggressive strength complexes

If you are anything like me then the practice of building a body that
excels in one strength and fitness quality to the detriment of all others
is not your ideal.  With regards to strength, there are several different
kinds.

Some of these are expressed as "Relative Strength",
"Absolute Strength", "Maximal Strength" and the awesome
cousin of strength "POWER".

In physics, Power is described as the "rate at which work is
performed".  So basically it is "how fast" the work gets done.

For example, a power lifter who exhibits great Maximal Strength
may be able to squat 600 lbs.,  but the power lifter who exhibits great
POWER will be able move the same weight... just in a lot faster and
more aggressive manner.  This type of power will translate into higher
jumping abilities, faster sprinting abilities, harder throwing, etc.

The type of strength that is developed by lifting heavy weights is the
foundation for power, in other words, you've got to have some serious
Maximal Strength if you're going to exhibit great Power.  It is the base
upon which power is expressed.

So, in order to build a really POWERFUL body, we have to combine
both Maximal Strength exercises and Power generation exercises
within the same system.  Or rather, we take a Hybrid approach to our
strength and power training.  One workout that includes heavy lifting,
jumping, sprinting and throwing.

This type of performance quality, one that allows the athlete to
move heavy weight in a rapid fashion... AS WELL as continue to
build upon cardiovascular fitness and functional movement capacity
is what we have termed "Hybrid Aggressive Strength".
